Moma

·      What is Dada and why did it come into existence?
Dada is an art form to cause talk. “not the beginnings of art, but of disgust” it promoted criticism

·      Discuss Duchamp’s notion of “Readymades”.  What are they? Duchamp took things that are household objects, and things that are already made. He took useful things and made them not useful like the stool and wheel.
·      How do they change your expectations about what art can be?
It makes me feel different about art because even though you may not think something is art, it makes me think that everything is art no matter how simple it is. And even when the artist didn’t make it.
They started making collages. They did so because it was meant for anyone to do it. Almost the same as duchamp.
There is no real value of dadaists art pieces because it isnt hard to make. but the meaning behind it makes it valueable. Dada artists worked with words because they want it ti be unreadable.
